The Cortex Coalition is a project created by different groups concerned with the future of the Internet. Both the infrastructure and the legislation that governs our everyday online experiences. We have come together and work toward ensureing that the voice of the user is represented, and heard over the voice of corporate and private interests.
We are joining efforts to achieve larger scale projects and campaigns, which require a lot of skills needed to get certain things done, such as software programming, infrastructure and global information campaigns.
The coalition is a meeting place, through which we channel our skills and enjoy the advantages of working together and sharing knowledge.
The primary issues, which brought us together, are network neutrality combined with the harm done to the internet due to the copyright industries. We feel that merely informing people about these matters has been done, and shown to be ineffective. Instead we want to build a tool, that will be in the hands of users, which will allow them to test and analyze their connections.
We are still in very early development of our project, but we have opened it up in order to find activists and concerned contributors to work with us. More information can be found in our wiki.
By following this main page via RSS, or subscribing to our mailinglist, you can follow how our project develops and learn more about us and how to contribute.
Also, you can join us on IRC (#cortex.tools on irc.anonnet.org, Web IRC) where most of our daily communications take place.
